Safe home food preservation will be the topic of an evening session Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Jefferson.
Ann Heuer, ISU Extension & Outreach nutrition and wellness specialist will be the instructor at Food Preservation 101. Participants will be introduced to safe home food preservation methods including canning, dehydrating, and freezing. They will receive food preservation handouts, see supplies and equipment on display, and taste different home-preserved items.
Food Preservation 101 is designed to help consumers of all ages learn to preserve foods at home in an easy way using research-based recipes and the latest recommendations.
The class will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Cost is $10. Registration is online at http://bit.ly/9880fp101. The last day to register is Aug. 24.
